Kazuho Murakami is a Japanese jazz trombonist. Known for his melodic and rhythmic approach with a wide range of dynamics to trombone playing. And his composing is the unique and sensitive.

Murakami’s music integrates his wide-ranging experiences into a highly personal vernacular — immersed in jazz tradition, drawing on world music, classical music and other influences, seeking fresh and original pathways. His earliest work as a leader, on ”Kazuho Murakami Large Ensemble” featured a five brass instrument and four strings and rhythm section and his composition. This band has succeeded a concert many times in Japan. Kazuho Murakami Large Ensemble has done recording session in this April. The album will be released in 2023.

His playing trombone values traditional jazz, his composition is going for modern music. Born and raised in Kobe, Japan. Kazuho was surrounded by music from an early age. His father's playing guitar and bass, his mother's playing piano, his brother's playing saxophone and violin and his sister's playing cello. Kazuho Murakami started to play classical piano when he was 5.
When he got into Konan junior high school, he started to play in the big band club and play trombone. His ears were growing with Count Basie and his orchestra. He has played many Count Basie's songs in a big band. He was in Konan high school, He was impressed by the Maria Schneider Orchestra. Murakami started to get into modern jazz.

When he was a high school student, he decided to be a jazz musician and desired to go to New York. After graduated university in Japan, he started to work as a jazz musician in Japan. In April 2022, he moved to New York. He got into the New York City University's Queens College - Aaron Copland school of music. He had learned under trumpeter Miki Hirose in Japan. He is learning under trombonist John Yao in New York.




現在、自身が主宰する"Kazuho Murakami Large Ensemble"やビッグバンド、コンボなどで演奏活動中。作曲も行っている。
作曲活動では2020年に弦楽器を含む⾃⾝のラージアンサンブル"Kazuho Murakami Large Ensemble"でドラマー福盛進也をゲストに招き、レコーディング。20201年4月2日に同楽曲をリリース

1997年神⼾⽣まれ
５歳からピアノを始める。
甲南中学校⼊学と同時にブラスアンサンブル部でトロンボーンを始め、ジャズビッグバンドの活動を始める。中学３年、⾼校２年次にコンサートマスターを務め、国際ジャズフェスティバルステラジャムにて総合優勝。またJapanStudentJazzFestivalでソリスト賞を受賞。
同志社⼤学⼊学後、同志社大学サードハードオーケストラや慶應義塾⼤学ライトミュージックソサエティにて活動。
